Land Acquisition Scheme for General Purposes
The Department has been implementing this scheme since the year 2007-08. Under this Scheme the Department has been acquiring land from interested private parties on behalf of the Govt. to form a Land Bank. These will be used by the Govt. for implementing developmental schemes of the Government in the future or leased out to corporate houses interested in setting up business in the State. So far the department has purchased 623.91 acres of land. A sum of Rs.10327 lakhs has been transferred to the District Collector, East towards the purchase of the land.
